We are an official corporate partner of Derian House Children's Hospice, a charity which helps children and young people with life limiting conditions. The Hospice aims to make happy memories for those whose lives are too short, within an environment of fun, respect and high-quality care.
Derian House provides respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people across Lancashire and South Cumbria, both within the Hospice and their own homes. It's the first children's Hospice to have their own holiday facility, which followed with a second one opening at Ribby Hall Village and Spa so all Derian House families can have a week's free holiday.
The Hospice relies heavily on fundraising in the community and Corporate Partnerships, which is why we are delighted to become a Silver Partner of Derian House. (Registered Charity Number: 1005165)
RiverVoyages.com also offers the option for our customers to donate £1 per booking to Derian House. This is explained at the time of booking by their Cruise Concierge and customers are free to choose whether to opt-in or out as they so wish.
Being based in Chorley, working with local communities and support residents is very close to us here at RiverVoyages.com. That's why we are proud to be a Premier Patron of Chorley's Inspire Youth Zone, a purpose-built facility for the borough's young people aged 8-25.
Inspire Youth Zone provides a fun and safe environment where young people can come and enjoy themselves. The facility enables those to raise their aspirations and confidence, creating a happier and healthier generation.
The £4.8million project is much more than a place to hang out though. It provides the younger generation of Chorley with life-changing skills, significantly reduces anti-social behaviours, improves exercise, increases grades in school and has a positive influence on self-confidence.
We are so dedicated to this cause that we have pledged to raise over £75,000 for the young people's charity, Inspire Youth Zone, by 2020! (Registered Charity Number: 1167309)
