Award-winning author, Elizabeth Gilbert, has been announced as the godmother of the new Avalon Envision, set to sail along the Danube River in 2019.
The 166-passenger ship is set to join the cruise line’s fleet of Suite Ships and grace the waters of the Danube River throughout 2019. Following this, it will be the first time Avalon Waterways’ full fleet across Europe and Southeast Asia will comprise completely of Suite Ships – with each featuring the signature Panorama Suites and Open-Air Balconies.
Avalon Envision will be the youngest ship on Europe’s waterways when she sets sail in 2019, offering two decks of the award-winning Panorama Suites for guests to enjoy. The suites feature floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall panoramic windows which offer a unique Open-Air Balcony for private outdoor space. These are 30% larger than industry standard – measuring 200-square-foot of space to make your own while on-board.
Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the award-winning memoir ‘Eat Pray Love’, is set to christen the ship in Budapest during an international ceremony on April 7 2019. She published her first novel in 2000, which received worldwide attention and became an international bestseller – having been translated into more than 30 languages and over 10 million copies sold!
Gilbert has previously been named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine, making her a perfect godmother to this stunning new ship.
We can’t wait to see what Avalon Envision will offer for sailings along the Danube in 2019, and who better than an award-winning, bestselling author to welcome her to the fleet!
