Despite being launched back in 2001, the Viking Spirit still looks and feels like a new ship, with a stylish design that has been maintained to give passengers on-board a comfortable and relaxing experience. Accommodating a maximum of 150 guests, the atmosphere is relaxed and intimate, ensuring a pleasant holiday for all on-board.
The award-winning Viking Spirit offers voyages on the River Seine, a mix of enthralling and thought-provoking history in Normandy, scenic countryside and of course the contemporary culture and notable landmarks of the incredible city of Paris. A voyage on this ship has something to keep everyone interested.
There are only 75 staterooms on the Viking Spirit, including 12 Standard Staterooms and 63 Deluxe Staterooms. The differences between the two types of cabin are quite important, as the Standard Staterooms have a sofa bed and a Pullman bed, along with a half-height window due to being partly below the water line. In contrast, Deluxe Staterooms have hotel-style beds and a larger window which in some rooms, depending on ship location, can be opened.
There are also a number of features that are standard across all of the cabins, including basics such as a private bathroom, storage, a safe and a hair dryer. There is also a TV with movies and news in English, premium bathroom products, air conditioning and, on request, a bathrobe and slippers. You can also enjoy bottled water, which is restocked every day for no charge.
Enjoy fine dining on-board the Viking Spirit, with some wonderful cuisine every evening. Across multiple courses, up to five, be spoiled by the delicious offerings for dinner which always include at least one regional speciality, alongside more conventional dishes to provide plenty of variety. Unlimited wines and beers can be enjoyed, again with local variances chosen to give a flavour of the area in which you are sailing.
As much attention is paid to the other meals of the day too, meaning you know you can look forward to a varied selection for lunch that includes homemade soups, a range of sandwiches and a number of entrees, along with desserts. Breakfast is continental, including meats, cheeses and pastries, with hot egg dishes also provided alongside a selection of teas and coffees.
The ship has free wireless internet access, which you can use anywhere on-board. That includes the Observation Lounge, with its own bar, and the Sun Deck on top of the ship. There’s also an open promenade deck where guests can relax. A library provides a quiet haven, while a boutique lets passengers shop for gifts and treats.
