Sole occupancy pricing is applicable to selected dates only and can be withdrawn at any time. The website shows a grid of offers for each sailing where pricing is per person, based on double occupancy of a cabin.

Booking your Cruise

RiverVoyages.com endeavours to ensure all passengers are completely satisfied with their cruise holiday arrangements, however it is understood that RiverVoyages.com is acting on your behalf and it is therefore necessary to make some conditions, as follows:

Protection

Book with confidence. We are a Member of ABTA which means you have the benefit of ABTA’s assistance and Code of Conduct. All the package holidays we sell are covered by a scheme protecting your money if the supplier fails. Other services such as hotels or flights on their own may not be protected and you should ask us what protection is available.

Liability

All bookings accepted by RiverVoyages.com and arrangements made are subject to the booking conditions imposed by the principals, the cruise operators (see below). All tickets, vouchers and coupons are issued by RiverVoyages.com in their capacity as Disclosed Agents for ATOL Holders, upon the express condition that SixStarCruises.com is not liable to any passenger for loss, damage, delay, injury, cancellation, or any additional expense, suffered by any passenger whatsoever, or any cause beyond RiverVoyages.com control shall be occasioned by RiverVoyages.com or any of its officials, agents or representatives. The total liability of SixStarCruises.com shall not exceed the total payment received from the client in respect of any booking.

Payment

A deposit or full payment will be required. This can be discussed with your cruise concierge at the time of booking. Payment will be collected by RiverVoyages, but will ultimately be passed to the Holiday Provider (Principal/ATOL holder). If, after a deposit is taken, the balance is not paid by the designated time, RiverVoyages.com reserves the right, after due notice to the client, to cancel the booking and all deposits and assurances will be forfeited. Any charge imposed by the principal to cancel the booking will be the liability of the customer.

Cancellation

Any booking cancellation must be made to RiverVoyages.com in writing, either by email ([email protected]) or by post (RiverVoyages.com, Moorland Gate Business Park, Cowling Road, Chorley, PR6 9EA). The cancellation will be processed within 24 hours of RiverVoyages.com receiving the cancellation communication, so please be mindful of that in terms of our calculation of the cancellation charges. In the event you cancel your booking, cancellation charges will apply as follows:

The cancellation charges of the Holiday Provider, plus the RiverVoyages.com booking fee and also a RiverVoyages.com cancellation charge of £50 per person.  

The Holiday Provider or cruise line charges will be as shown in their terms and conditions, which you can access via their brochure, their website or via the RiverVoyages.com website. Note that each Holiday Provider or cruise line calculates these on a sliding scale, with charges increasing closer to departure date to a maximum of 100% of the cost of the holiday.

In the event of you requesting to cancel, please note that where the deposit you have paid is insufficient to cover the total cancellation charges on the booking, your booking will not be cancelled until you have paid the required cancellation charges as set out above. Please note that any delay to cancellation can result in charges increasing further.   

Card charges

From 13th January 2018, no credit or debit card charges will be levied on payments UNLESS your booking was made before 18th July 2017. Card charges will still apply to any outstanding payments on bookings prior to this date.

Price accuracy

Prices quoted throughout this site are subject to change and the services offered subject to availability.

Administration Charges

There will be a £29.99 administration charge applied to every booking made.

Amendment Charges

There will be a charge of £50 per person for any amendment you ask us to make to a booking. This will be in addition to any increases in fare and any charges levied by the Holiday Provider or cruise line. The Holiday Provider or cruise line charges will be as shown in their terms and conditions, which you can access via their brochure, their website or via the RiverVoyages.com website.

Insurance

We strongly advise you to take out a fully comprehensive insurance which will give adequate cover against Medical Expenses, Personal Accident, Cancellation, Curtailment, Baggage, Personal Effects and Money. Some cruise lines will refuse boarding without proof of adequate insurance.

Resort Tax

A number of resorts now charge a “Resort Tax” this is something that cannot be pre-paid by us as your agent and will need to be settled in person upon check-out. For further information, please visit your hotels website(s).

Visas, vaccinations and passports

Passengers are personally responsible far any Visas, Vaccinations and Passports that will be required to travel. We would strongly recommend visiting the Foreign and Commonwealth Office for all the latest travel, health and VISA information if you are travelling to a destination outside the EU or the World Travel Guide. It is especially important to check in plenty of time before your holiday, if you are visiting a country for which inoculations are recommended or required, the Department of Health provides this information. Please be aware that it is your responsibility to obtain visas and to make sure you have a passport with at least 6 months validity on it.

General health information for travellers - introduction

We strongly encourage travellers to discuss their travel plans with their GP, practice nurse or private travel clinic. It is during this discussion that hazards specific to your destination can be identified, and advice on avoiding them can be given.

Why do I need to go for pre-travel health advice?

A pre-travel consultation does not just involve injections. In fact, the majority of hazards faced by travellers abroad are not prevented by vaccines. The pre-travel consultation will identify these hazards and provide you with the opportunity to discuss how these risks can be reduced. Examples include:

  • Traveller’s diarrhoea
  • Food and water hygiene
  • Insect bite avoidance
  • Traveller’s thrombosis (DVT)
  • Travel insurance

The benefits of a pre-travel consultation are:

Up to date verbal and written advice on a range of travel health issues Information about recent disease outbreaks Travel health vaccinations, malaria tablets and other medications

Which travellers should go for a pre-travel consultation?

Anyone planning a trip outside of Western Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, should discuss their travel plans with a health professional. Generally, the risk of infectious disease is greater in resource-poor countries; however certain advice will be applicable to all travellers regardless of their destination. For example travellers to Mediterranean resorts should still protect themselves against insect bites, the damaging rays of the sun, and avoid risky behaviour.

There are certain travellers in whom a pre-travel consultation is particularly important, these include:

  • Babies and young children
  • The elderly
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  • Those with pre-existing medical conditions

Travel advice for these individuals should be specifically tailored to their needs.

How long before I travel should I seek advice?

As a general rule, 6-8 weeks prior to travel will give ample time for all necessary vaccines to be completed.

For those planning longer trips into remote areas, courses of vaccines may be recommended which can take several weeks to complete.

It is still worth seeking health advice even at the last minute, as there are some vaccines that can be given at short notice, it is always worth taking malaria tablets for last minute travel, and travellers will benefit from the preventative advice.
