Dining
Dining is an important part of a Viking River Cruise. The highly-trained chefs offer a destination-focused menu filled with authentic regional dishes using locally-sourced ingredients. In the evenings you’ll enjoy five-course meals as you watch the passing scenery.
Venues include The Restaurant which serves sumptuous buffets for breakfast, soups and salads for lunch and multicourse dining in the evenings. The Aquavit Terrace is a more casual affair, offering al fresco dining as you sail past some of Europe's stunning destinations. You can also dine on the Sun Deck for a light meal in the sunshine or under the shade of an umbrella. Viking’s open seating policy means that you’re free to sit wherever you like.
Cultural Enrichment
On-board your ship you’ll enjoy a cultural enrichment programme designed to help you learn about and enjoy the history and culture of the places you visit. It features guest lectures on art, architecture, music, geopolitics and history, as well as tasting sessions with local wines, informative talks about each port and musicians performing regional and classical music.
You’ll enjoy cookery demonstrations which present recipes for regional delights and craft demonstrations which reveal the techniques of local artisans such as lace making, silk screen printing and wooden shoemaking.
